A day at the North Carolina Zoo. Well all I can say is that you had better have on some good walking shoes, because you will be doing a lot of walking. It was a perfect day to be there though, it was cool and no crowd. I think what impressed me the most was the area the animals have to roam. The larger animals actually had acres and acres to wonder around on and they were not kept in some smaller cage for people to view. It was just one great day and loved it.
Went to the Bank of America 500 race last night at Lowe's Speedway. There is just something about all the sounds, smells, and sights of a race that really intrigues me. Sat in the Toyota 4th Turn Terrace and was 11 rows up from the track. I'm not all sure where the best seats are here, but the view here was not all bad at all. Was hoping to see Jeff Gordon win but that didn't happen and then was also hoping to see Dale Earnhardt Jr do better but that didn't happen either. But it was still exciting for me. I must admit that I do get a rush watching all this. It took 1 1/2 hours to get home from the race and in normal times it's a 15 minute drive.
It was a great week last week down in Myrtle Beach. I stayed with family and they made my stay with them just fantastic. Got up every morning and hit the beach to watch the sunrise. It may have been a little on the cool side but that didn't last long once the sun came up. Walked the beach and collected sea shells. Didn't find any real neat shells, but still had fun. One of these day's I will find at least one shark's tooth on the beach.
