Price's Chicken Coop - Charlotte

Now there is some great chicken. Great tasting, not greasy, and very moist on the inside. I was shocked when I got there about 4:45 PM; car's parked up and down the street on both sides and then when I finally did get a parking spot there were 6 lines at the counter about 5-7 deep. But the wait was well worth it. I would love to know just how much chicken they go through on a day like that. Also their hushpuppies were some of the best also. Next time I'm going to try out the shrimp dinner to see what that is like. This is another place that is a must stop and try out while here in Charlotte.

Court Street, Jacksonville, NC

Where did they all go? The jewelry store? The bars? The restaurants? The clothing stores? But, as I stopped to walk and take a couple of pictures I could still hear the sounds, see the sights, and smell the food from my memories of Court Street. So many changes in the past 46 years...

And of course, don't forget Old Bridge Street

Stonewall Jackson Training School

Welcome to the Stonewall Jackson Training School located just outside Concord, NC. These here are the original buildings that were built back in 1909. Of course there is a much newer facility located behind all these buildings now. It was the first juvenile home in the state of North Carolina. I have to sit here and wonder what kind of boys were sent here. How were they treated here? Did they go on and lead productive lives from here?

The Cannon House

One of the "cottages", as they were called, where the boys were put up.

Another one of the "cottages".

The grounds around the school and cottages.

Concord Mills Mall

Finally back to the walking routine, I hope. On the cold and really hot days I can come here and walk in the mall. It's .8 miles per lap and if you walk all the entrance's it's 1 mile per lap. If the weather is good then I can go to the Fairfield Park over in Mint Hill and walk one of the two courses there.
