Some beautiful homes of Concord, NC

Time to pack up and head back home...

Yes, the Coca-Cola 600 is over with and now it's time to pack everything up and head back home. Well thank goodness that I don't have to do this; only live 15 minutes from the track. Started out partly sunny but then it turned black and the rains came.

A few empty beer cans atop one of the portable light generators...

Yep, ease it out onto the highway and head em'out

Get those vendor tents down...

The campgrounds and slowly vacating...

Raining so hard... gotta feel for those who were in a tent and breaking camp during the storm.

One tough biker.... very wet biker...

The Last Goodbye

Don't ever forget those who died for our freedom and our country. May God be with all of our military men and women and watch over them.

And The Rains Came...

It's about a 20 minute drive from Charlotte to Oakboro and while coming back home during the storm the temperature dropped from 89 to 65 by the time I got home.

Carolina Wren Building A New Home

One of our local Carolina Wren's has decided to build a nest in our yard, but not in the birdhouse that we have out on the fence. Oh no, she has to build it in a plastic water bucket we have laying on the water barrel. I had been watching for a couple days now and noticed her gathering stuff to make a nest with and she would land on the fence. Then from there she headed out to the rain barrel. So I went out and took a look and sure enough, there in the water bucket she has started making a nest. I hope we can make this all work out for her.

What a place for a home. Big, dry, and nice size hole to fly in and out of.

A little closer look.

As close as I could get with the camera. Hey doesn't look like much but she calls it home.
