W Henry Hall 1912

I ran across this small house, or building, out in the country just north of Monroe. I don't have a clue what it's all about, but it did catch my eye...

9 AM and 66 degrees outside. Gotta love this.

Purple Fields

The pines standing tall in the background...

A warm day, gentle breeze, and the fields are alive with purple flowers...

Just me and a couple of geese visiting this site today.

Church - Stonewall Jackson Training School

Was this the church for the Stonewall Jackson Training School? It sits on the other side of the road but you can reach it by crossing over the walkway that goes across the road.

Cottage Unknown - Stonewall Jackson Training School

Just a little grown over on this cottage.

Cottage 7 - Stonewall Jackson Training School

Now this really amazed me. The two pool tables still in this cottage here.

One Man's Junk Another Man's Treasure

Granted, this is in a remote area of Charlotte, but yet it's in the city.

Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge

They were pumping water into this marsh area from a nearby stream the day I took this picture.

I'm sure we could build a home or two out of bricks from this fine selection. This is actually the Triangle Brick factory of Wadesboro.

Bethlehem Cemetery

A final resting place...

Anson County Airport

What more can I say... One picture say's it all... Or do I say announcing the arrival of flight 1164 from Cheraw... Or do I say how this reminds of Muskegon County International Airport...

Back To A Simpler Life

There are days that I think I was born in the wrong place... I would have loved to been able to be part of this lifestyle... Of course this is looking back on my life and what it was like. One cannot go back in time and change anything so I just deal with it all. But I really do admire and respect the people from the south and how they have lived their lives then and also yet today. There is the respect, friendliness  and perhaps a slower pace to the lifestyle down here unlike the "rat race" in the north. I guess that is what I fell in love with when I came down to North Carolina back in 1964. I got to meet some really good people during that time from the Jacksonville and surrounding area. I know my heart stayed here in NC when I moved back to MI in 1968. The following video is just a small view of the lifestyle in the mountains...

TV Reception

Gee, I'm done with those rabbit ears. I think this will solve my reception problem.

Out Of Business

I don't know what they were at one time but today they appear to be just empty buildings. But they must have been someone's place of business before. I wonder what they were. Why are they closed now.

Country Living

Talk about a quiet and beautiful place to live, well this sure looks like it to me.

City Lake Park

A beautiful park with loads of mountain bike trails here in Albemarle.

Lake Lynn Lodge

I have seen a sign saying Lake Lynn Lodge while driving north on 49, so today I decided to stop and take a look at what it was all about. Of course it wasn't open but still it sits on a small and very pretty lake. So quiet and peaceful out here and if you click on the link below you will see what they have to offer. I think I will need to get out here sometime and then after looking at the menu I think it should be soon.

Control Tower

The control tower at Charlotte Douglas airport.

A morning breakfast at Biscuitville. Basically a fast food breakfast place but yet a good breakfast for a very reasonable price plus great biscuits.

Don't forget to try out the bologna.
